UNIVERSITY PARK — An upcoming Penn State Extension workshop will offer an opportunity to connect with farmers and gain insights into best management practices for organic farming. “Dairy Organic Study Circle” will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at Centre Hall Fire Company, 134 Witmer Ave., Centre Hall.
The event is aimed at farmers interested in organic farming, farmers transitioning to organic practices and established organic farmers.
The day will kick off with a discussion on maximizing tie-stall barn longevity. Participants also can learn about ideas for transitioning to organic practices and troubleshooting local issues for organic farms.
