Upper Midwest (Des Moines, IA)
8/25/10
Organic grain and feedstuffs prices were trading very firm on moderate offerings and light to moderate demand. Food grade wheat trade remains very limited in the Upper Midwest while feed grade barley was more active throughout the region this period.  While reports of "sudden death" in conventional soybeans are quite prevalent as of late, reports of critical issues in organic beans have been reported by some farmers with a few plowing them under because of weed pressure.
Monthly and fourth quarter average prices are located below.

All prices FOB price per bushel except where stated (trucking cost needs to be added).
