The Latest East & Midwest Grain & Hay Prices

Added February 2, 2009

Upper Midwest (Des Moines, IA)
1.24.09
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were steady on light demand and moderate offerings with continued slow market activity.  There has been much interest from producers but not a lot of movement yet.  Hay prices have started to fall as producers are needing to move the hay they have been storing.

All prices FOB price per bushel except where stated (trucking cost needs to be added)

Eastern Cornbelt (Springfield, IL)
1.24.09
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were steady to weak.  Demand was light for heavy offerings.  Feed grade corn and soybean prices were steady to weak.  Buying interest has been quiet due to large inventories of organic corn and milling quality wheat.  Offers for feed grade barley ranged from 7.95 to 8.40 per bushel.

All prices FOB price per bushel except where stated (trucking cost needs to be added)
